Raised bed depth: matching the bed to vegetables and roots
Raised bed depth matters more than width for many crops. Use 30cm for shallow salads and strawberries, 45cm for most vegetables and fruit bushes, and 50cm or more for deep-rooted perennials like rhubarb and asparagus, with rubble in the base to save soil.
